Momilani K-12 Sped Resources and Services was founded by Momi Robins-Makaila, whose personal and family life struggles inspired a sensitivity and desire to help others wanting more for their lives but lacking the skills to believe in themselves, persevere, overcome, and thrive. Momi’s life is chronicled in Candy Canes and Coke, and Rescued By a God I Didn’t Know a personal journey to living one’s best life. Many people worldwide find life to be a series of difficult and more difficult challenges to overcome often keeping them in a state of Amygdala Hijack, the feeling of wanting to fight, flee, or freeze, robbing them of the ability to experience real joy. But, with the right executive functioning capacity, life skills, attitudes, belief in oneself, expectations for greatness, and meaningful connections, no matter life’s obstacles, anyone can live with joy and purpose, and make all their dreams come true.
Our curriculum focuses on teaching life skills in the context of transitioning into adult life, using strategies that actually work, having meaningful conversations with people we love, reflecting on our thinking and decisions, and making changes as necessary. Think about the children in your life whom you love the most and start them on our curriculum. Find out about each K-12 book on the workbooks page.
